Ebac Comes Out On Top at Industry Awards – July 2007
500 attendees from the worlds of water coolers and vending gathered for the 2007 Cooler & Vending awards on Tuesday 24 April. Fresh from taking part in the London Marathon, Olympic Gold Medallist Sally Gunnell OBE warmed up the crowd with an inspirational speech, before presenting the awards.
Ebac picked up no less that 2 awards for it's revolutionary energy saving Hot Tank – which was announced as the winner of both the 'Best Sustainability Initiative' & the ‘Best Of Year’ prize.
Developed to reduce the energy needed to heat water and compensate for the refrigeration systems of hot tap coolers having to work harder, the insulated hot tank works in a similar way to a Thermos flask. Its vacuum insulated jacket reduces power consumption 30-fold and minimises the effect of hot water on refrigeration units. With a typical daily power consumption of 0.03kW hours, the tank cuts daily running costs from £1 to 3p, which reduces the annual bill from hundreds of pounds to just £11.
The judges commented "This is a brilliant product that will bring about a massive reduction in power consumption. It's good to see a simple product that tackles a complex issue."
